Sabre Steele

Born, Contessa Nicolena Constantine, in Calabria , Italy , my father, a wealthy trade merchant, discovered my practice of the dark arts.  I was quickly exiled from home and church.  I sewed whatever jewels I could in my many cloaks to hide them, took one of my father’s ships, re-christened it the ARADIA and made my way to Ireland .  I soon found my self in the company of many rogues and cut throats.  I used some of my money to purchase a tavern, The Sea Witch Inn.  While at sea I came across a man who faced the block, wanted for theft, so I paid his dept with my mother’s emerald ring and found a friend and comrade at arms in Jason The Bold.  I changed my name to Sabre Steele to escape the magistrate. Knowing my past and not caring what my religious dark secrets held, I made many a friend of these rogues.  They have hidden me, crewed my ship, fought to keep the name SEA WITCH held with regard and respect, shaped my destiny, and now they help me run my tavern, as long as the Rum flows.  Here I found a new life, as Captain of a rather cutthroat crew.  Wanted in Italy, France and Spain, for sundrie acts of witchcraft and piracy, I cannot return home to my title and family, so its the sweet trade I choose, and to remain Sabre Steele, Captain, Tavern owner, Outlaw, Heretic, and Friend to many a forgotten soul. "Properly warned ye be, says I."
