Jasper Coal....The MacKay

2nd generation American Colonial, of Scots -Irish decent and holding
hereditary lands and title of “The MacKay”. Jasper Coal gained
notoriety as a formidable skirmisher and scout in Robert Roger’s
Rangers during the1st campaign against the French and Indians in the
Hudson Valley of New Hampshire. Having taken a Huron Wife, he was
later accused of conspiring to aid the enemies of England by Robert’s
brother James Rogers and charged with treason by the Crown. Coal and
was stripped of this title and lands by King George’s Court. His
Indian wife was killed by the Rangers in the skirmish to capture him.
He was to be sent to England for trial but escaped British
Imprisonment, killing a British officer and 3 soldiers in the
process. He commandeered a 6 gun schooner, The Lynx, from New York
harbor along her privateer crew. With no fondness for the French or
English Governments and a price on his head from both, he took to the
life of Piracy.
